Guitar Jack Amp

This gives a whole new meaning to "portable amplification." Like a normal amp, if you crank up the output of your guitar it will distort. The whole thing runs on a 9-volt battery.

Orlando, FL 32837

Recipe for a Flat?

Levy's booth generally has something that catches my eye. This year it was the car tire and barbed wire straps. The car tire straps are made from real tire rubber. Fortunately, the barbed wire straps don't use real barbed wire.

The Fuzzy Fuzz Pedal

This pedal does indeed sport a fuzzy exterior. It comes in six different colors just in case you feel the need to color-coordinate.

The Hangman

This solves two problems: what to do with your case when you're playing and what to do with your guitar when you're not. I like these kind of simple solutions.

Aren't They Missing The Purple One?

Apple hasn't been making the original iMac for years now but still the industrial design lives on. These stands are actually kind of cool in their simplicity. They will accomodate either electric or acoustic instruments.

PhatFoot SideKick & Straight-Up

After conquering the world of migrating kick drums last year, the PhatFoot folks have moved on to other challenges. These address a problem that I've run into myself many times, wandering keyboard pedals.

G7TH Capo

So many products I've seen at NAMM are touted as revolutionary but are far from it. So… a revolutionary capo? Well… yes. Instead of a mechanical or spring mechanism, you simply squeeze it onto the neck. You release it with a little lever on the back.

G-Band Capo

It appears that there's revolution in the air in the capo world. The G-Band capo is used to change the tuning for only one or two strings at a time. A simple use for one of these would be to tune to drop D and G-Band it back up to E. The creative possibilities are wide ranging.

Techra Guitar Stand

This guitar stand is extremely adjustable. The arms that the guitar rests on will telescope out to accommodate acoustic guitars and those arms can also be moved up and down the length of the stand. That's godsend for oddly-shaped guitars. Now where do you suppose you could find some of those? ;)

Footloose Wireless Switching

Footlose has been busy refining their wireless amp/effects switching technology since 2003 when I first saw them at NAMM. They've increased the range of the system and have created an in-guitar system with buttons on the pickguard.

ProKnobs Custom Tuners

You used to have to be satisified with just plain old tuners on your custom guitar but that's all in the past now. You too can have axehead tuners.

What is Disnortion you say? It's either how someone with a speech impediment says distortion or it's an overdrive/fuzz/octaver all run in parallel. This makes a nice addition to their envelope phaser when you drive it with the buffered clean signal from the Disnortion.

Flight Cases?

We don't need no stinkin' flight cases. This amp is made from welded sheets of aluminum with the speakers protected by metal grills. It brings new meaning to the phrase "bullet proof."

The Pod Hole

This reminds me of a game I had as a kid called Operation where you had to tweeze out plastic body parts without touching the edges of the holes.

The Takslyd

Where do you put your slide when you're not using it? You velcro it to your guitar of course. The slide is slightly D-shaped to give the vecro a flat place to stick.

Pedal Snake

The allows you to run multiple effects loops, amp switches, MIDI, and power back and forth between your pedal board and your amp in a single bundled cable. You can either set it all up using their pigtails or you can have them wire up a custom snake for you.

Vorson flash Strap and Wrist Pick

Our friends at Lanyao bring us leather guitar straps with metal scary things that have eyes that flash red and blue. They also make a leather wrist strap that holds spare picks because guitar players just can't wear enough leather, or apparently, have enough scary flashy things.

My Star has some interesting cables. These sport wooden ends and the cable itself has a metal flex-mesh casing, much like you'd find on fine automotive cables.
