Silenzer This clever little gizmo clips into the end of your instrument cable. When you unplug it the wire springs out the to the end and shorts it so that you don't have that noisy buzzing that you normally get. I remember seeing a cable years ago that had a little spring loaded switch in at the base of the jack but it didn't work on some guitars/jacks. This one gets around that problem. |

Gator Cases Here were too interesting ideas. The Roller Rack is a lot like the luggage you find with the extendable handle and wheels, you can get it in 4, 8 and 10 space sizes. The Stand-A-Case is pretty much just that. It folds over and becomes a guitar stand. Gator Cases |
Sabra Protector This Brazilian company has come up with a clever universal shock mount that adjusts in all sorts of ways. They are pretty inexpensive, especially when you compare them to the exorbitant prices most companies charge for their shock mounts. I own two of these and find them indespendible, particularly for MS micing setups. Sabra-Som Commercial LTDA |
Visual Sound Another company showing two interesting products was Visual Sound. On the right is No-Wart, a 9v AC adapter that only uses one outlet in a standard power strip, it's about time. Below you see their stop boxes. Each one of these has two effect, the H2O chorus/echo, the Route 66 overdrive/compressor and the Jekyll & Hyde overdrive/overdrive. Visual Sound |
Pick-up the World If you've got any sort of instrument that needs a pickup these are the guys to check out. They've got pickups for everything. Pick-up the World |
Semi Case Here's another Brazilian company who had some very cool cases. As the name implies they are between soft cases and hard cases both in weight and protection. You can get them for most instruments. Solid Sound US Distributor: |
Snake Skin This is a great solution for cleaning up the cabling behind your gear. It's a fabric that keeps itself curled into a tube shape. You just pull it open along the lengthwise slit and put your cables in or take them out. It's permeable so that if it happens to get wet it won't retain the moisture. I used something like this a few years ago but it was made out of a plastic tube and it was a pain to use. This is much easier. American Recorder |
Blackhurst Stagegear This company has a number of standard products like the guitar cabinet iso box on the left but they also do custom work like the coffee maker/micro wave/fridge on the right. Just in case you're wondering, yes, they can do one with a blender for those margaritas on tour. Blackhurst Stagegear |
