Large Remo Frame Drum

I was starting to despair at the thought of not finding some oversized instrument to feature on these pages. Since the inception of the NAMM Oddities, really big instruments (designed largely to attract people to booths) have always shown up at NAMM.

This drum put out an amazing amount of low frequency energy. You'd need several hundred watts of amplifier to get the subs in your mini truck to rival this.

Spaun Drums

Sure these look cool but better than that they will glow in the dark. Spaun offers glow in the dark options for finishes as well as for the hardware. One thing that I didn't get a shot of was their split snare. It's a snare made up of two half-height shells with a one inch gap between them. Apparently this is useful for high volume situations.

OCDP1

Orange County Drum & Percussion

OC Drum has been known as a quality drum shop for quite some time. What I like is that they're open to any bizarre idea you might have for a custom kit.

Danmar

Danmar Fuzzy Drumstick holders

Danmar has taken the concept of stick holders to unthinkable heights. At the top you can see a plaid holder that would compliment the OC Drum set and the flaming one would go perfectly with the Spaun set.

Trick1

Trick Drums

Trick makes aluminum shell drums and they've come up with an interesting alternative to the simple pressure release hole. The drum shown at the bottom has slots cut into it around the lower portion of the shell, this is supposed to cut down on the ringing you often get with snares.

Remo Sound Shapes

Remo has a line of hand percussion that are simple frame drums. This one combines that with a spring that resonates when you strike the drum.
